80% Off at Restaurant.com

Get 80% off Restaurant.com gift certificates with promo code CHEF until September 30. That means most of the $10 gift certificates are $.80 and most $25 gift certificates are $2.

I’ve noticed a bunch of new restaurants popping up on the site recently.  I’m always looking for new places to eat out, so if you try any, please let me know what you think!

Restaurant.com sells discounted gift certificates for restaurants throughout the country. The gift certificates typically sell for half or more off their value. With a promo code, you can get them for less. Some restrictions, like minimum purchases or date restrictions, usually apply. Also, the gift certificates are generally only valid at the restaurant location listed.

Harris Teeter Poll: Results

I was a little surprised at the results of my recent Harris Teeter poll on which you prefer: Triples or Super Doubles (I guess that’s why it’s good for me to ask!).  By one vote, you guys chose “I like them the same.”  Second place, with 37% of the vote, was Super Doubles, and Triples were third with only 27%.

Personally, I prefer Super Doubles week.  The coupon inserts in the Washington Post tend to be heavy on the $1 off coupons, so I think that we get better deals around here when they double!  And I’ve gotten used to the free Dannon Activia, Wholly Guacamole, and Starbucks Frappuccinos!

In recent months we’ve gotten the best of both worlds, but I’ve been checking the forums and blogs and it looks like Super Doubles is probably a no-go for this month.  Honestly, I’m a little relieved—one week a month of super-savings is about all I have the energy for!  But it’s possible that this could all be a ploy by Harris Teeter corporate to throw us off the scent of another Super Doubles week, so I’ll keep an eye out and let you know if anything changes.

And one quick reminder: the last day of the month (September 30) falls on Wednesday this week.  If you have any coupons expiring that day, you’ll need to get to Harris Teeter on Wednesday to take advantage of next week’s sales!  I’ll see you there!

1-Year Subscription to InStyle for $5

instyleAmazon.com has an excellent deal going on InStyle magazine: one year (13 issues) for only $5!  I love clothes, and InStyle is one of my favorite reads for airplanes, waiting rooms, etc.  It’s all clothes without a lot of junk to wade through!

The regular price is somewhere around $4 per issue, so $5 for a year is really a bargain.  And it counts toward Super Saver shipping, so it’s a great small item to get your order up to $25.  It’s also a great use for a $5 Amazon gift card from Swagbucks!

General Mills Promo at Harris Teeter

This is turning out to be a really great week to grocery shop!  In addition to triple coupons, Harris Teeter has a great promo going on General Mills products: buy 15 selected products and receive $5 off instantly at checkout.

Most of the participating products are already on sale AND have coupons available, making it possible to get a bunch of food for nearly nothing!

The participating products include Cheerios, Total, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, Lucky Charms, Fiber One Pop Tarts, Betty Crocker Warm Delights, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Chex Mix, Betty Crocker Brownies, Cake Mix, and Icing, Wanchai Ferry, Macaroni Grill, Old El Paso, Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, Crescent Rolls, and other products, and Yoplait Delights.

It is also rumored that the Green Giant boxed vegetables that are on sale for $.99 are working with the promo.

Here’s a scenario that I came up with that should get you all 15 products for free, plus a little profit.  (Disclaimer: I won’t be able to try this out myself because of my aforementioned inability to print coupons.  <Sigh.> If you try it and it works, or doesn’t, please let me know!)

3 Betty Crocker Warm Delights – $1.67
Use $.50 off 1 from 9/13 GM, 8/9 GM, and Coupons.com
Final = $.51

5 Green Giant Frozen Vegetables
Use $.50 off 2 from 9/13 SmartSource
Use $.50 off 2 printable
Final = $.99

2 Chex Mix – $1.67
Use $.50 off 1 from Coupons.com
Final = $.34

1 Betty Crocker Frosting – $1.50
Use $.50 off 1 from GM
Final = FREE

1 Betty Crocker Cake Mix – $1 and Frosting – $1.50
Use $.50 off Mix and Frosting from Coupons.com
Final = Both for $1

2 Pillsbury Grands – $1.17 (BOGO)
Use $1 off 2 from Coupons.com
Final = $1.34

Final = $4.18 OOP

$5 comes off instantly, giving you a $.82 overage PLUS you get a $3 off your next order coupon for buying the Green Giant.  Sweet!

I’m also hearing rumors that there is a Catalina deal going on Old El Paso products that is similar to the Green Giant deal.  The Old El Paso seasoning mixes are on sale for $.79 each, and you’ll get a $1 off your next order coupon for buying 3.  You can also work this in with the General Mills promo for a double-dip!

And one more bit of advice: Go ahead and print your coupons now, because they are going fast!  The General Mills products are on sale almost everywhere this week, and there is a limit to the number of prints for each coupon.  If you see one you like, don’t wait around!

I would love to hear about the great deals that all of you are finding this week!  Please share in the comments or email!

Harris Teeter Deals 9/16-9/22 (Triple Coupons!)

ht

If you’re new to couponing, or want to better understand how to use the grocery store deals posts, start here.  These deals are shared each week as part of the BeCentsable Grocery Gathering.

It’s Triples Week again, and there are may great deals!  Harris Teeter will triple coupons up to a face value of $.99, making for some great deals!  A list of the best deals I see is below.

I will be keeping an eye out for more deals throughout the week, so keep checking back because I will add them as I find them.

Many of these coupons are available from The Coupon Clippers.  If you get an order in to them today (Wed), they should arrive in time for you to make use of them during Triples week!

A quick note on printables: I did a software “upgrade” recently that has left me unable to print coupons, so I can’t double-check the values or restrictions before listing them.  If you see mistakes, please feel free to comment or email me so that I can correct them!

A few notes on coupon use at Harris Teeter:

  • You can only use 20 coupons per transaction.  Some stores enforce this to mean that you can only use 20 per day, even if you go to two separate stores.
  • You can only use 1 coupon on a BOGO deal.  But you don’t have to buy 2 products to get the BOGO price.

Stock Up On Papers!

This week’s Washington Post has five coupon inserts – two SmartSource, two Red Plum, and a General Mills.  It’s a good week to stock up!

And making it an even better week to stock up: it is rumored that Harris Teeter will be tripling coupons again this week.  There are some $.50 off Green Giant coupons in the paper (remember the Green Giant Catalina deal I mentioned?) so when they’re tripled, there could be an opportunity to profit!

If you’re looking to buy multiple copies of the paper, check Giant or Shoppers.  They often sell Sunday papers in packs of two for $2.
