For everyone else, Entertainment Book has a pretty decent promotion going right now: you can get a 2009 Entertainment Book for FREE (plus $4.99 shipping) when you reserve your 2010 Entertainment Book.  Prices for the 2010 edition range from $25 to $51 (DC/NOVA’s was $30 last year).  This is not a bad deal, particularly if the new book contains $20 worth of Safeway coupons like it did this year.  (*Note: only two of these are still valid).

I hope you have all had a great weekend! I was doing a bit of cleaning around the house and discovered (or actually, remembered) that I have an extra copy of the 2009 Entertainment Book–DC/Northern Virginia edition.  (I accidentally ordered two—oops!)  I really only need one, so I have decided to give the second book away to a NovaThrifty reader!

Many of you are probably familiar with the Entertainment Book, but in case you’re not: this is a fantastic book containing hundreds of coupons and discounts for local businesses. The highlights (in my opinion) are two valid $5 off a $50 purchase coupons to any Safeway in Virginia, DC, or Maryland, or Safeway.com.  But there are also many, many coupons for restaurants, retailers, amusement parks, sporting events, and more.  Most of the coupons are valid through November 1, 2009 (although many are good through December 31).

Although the book is most useful for local readers, many of the coupons are for national chains—like AMC and Regal Theaters, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Cinnabon, Jiffy Lube, Blockbuster, and many online retailers.  So you’ll likely find several coupons that you can use, no matter where you are.
